H.E. Ms. Hanan Hanzaz

Representative for the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in Morocco is a Laureate of the Mohammedia School of Engineers (EMI) of Rabat, ;

She began her career in a private Moroccan bank; in 2004 she joined the Morocco Cleaner Production Center (CMPP) where she held the position of General Manager from 2009 to 2013.

In 2014, she joined the Moroccan mining group MANAGEM to take up the position of Director of the MANAGEM Foundation and subsequently the Director of Energy and Environmental Affairs of the Group.

In October 2015, Ms. Hanzaz was appointed Vice-President of the Permanent Commission of the General Confederation of Enterprises of Morocco (CGEM) “Energy, Climate and Green Economy” and member of the National Council of Enterprise (CNE) of the CGEM.

Hanan HANZAZ Représentante Pays de l’Organisation des Nations Unies pour le Développement Industriel au Maroc est lauréate de l’Ecole Mohammedia d’Ingénieurs (EMI) de Rabat.

Elle s’est engagée dès le début de sa carrière sur la voie du Développement Durable et inclusive. Elle a débuté sa carrière dans une banque privée marocaine pour rejoindre en 2004 le Centre Marocain de Production Propre (CMPP) ou elle a occupé le poste de Directeur Général de 2009 à 2013.   

En 2014, elle rejoint le Groupe minier MANAGEM pour occuper le poste de Directrice de la Fondation MANAGEM puis Directeur Energie et Affaires Environnementales du Groupe.

En  2015, Elle a été nommée Vice-Présidente de la Commission permanente de la Confédération Générale des Entreprises du Maroc « Energie, Climat et Economie Verte » et membre du Conseil National de l’Entreprise (CNE).

Elle a également participé à divers programmes internationaux mettant l’accent sur le Leadership de la femme, en particulier dans le domaine de l’Environnement tels que «Climate Women Leaders».

 

H.E. Professor Victor Harison

Professor Victor Harison holds a PhD in Mathematical Sciences, University of Antananarivo and a Certificate in Project Management, University of Pittsburgh.

He is currently Commissioner for Economic Affairs Department of the African Union Commission since August 2017. Previously he held the positions of Director General of the National Institute of Accounting and Business Administration (INSCAE), Antananarivo and Director of Studies and Programming, Ministry of Higher Education and Executive Secretary of the “Human Resources Development” project, administered by the World Bank.

In addition, he was Professor of Mathematics, Leadership and Organizational and Project Management. He also conducts research activities such as Thesis Director in Mathematical Sciences and Management Sciences. In addition, he is a member of the Mathematical Society of Madagascar, American Mathematical Society, International Conference of Leaders of French Language Training and Research Institutions

Finally, he is the author of several books, and numerous articles published in scientific journals.

 

 

H.E. Dr. Amany Asfour

 President of Business & Professional  Women -BPW International.

Dr. Amany Asfour graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University and holds a Master & M.D. degree in Pediatrics at the National Research Centre of Egypt. Within few years she was able to establish a company for medical equipment with more than 30 brands. She realized the importance of economic empowerment of women and established the Egyptian Business Women Association (EBWA) in 1995.

Dr. Asfour also started the African Alliance for Women Empowerment with focal points all over Africa as well as the Afro-Arab Network for Women Empowerment. Their main goal is to promote young generations of women entrepreneurs in Africa and to give guidance to women business owners of small & medium-sized enterprises. Dr. Asfour than established The Federation of Business & Professional Women BPW, Egypt. Dr. Asfour was elected the Chairperson of the Human Resources, Science & Technology Cluster, ECOSOCC (Economic, Social and Cultural Council) of the African Union, the FEMCOM-Egypt Federation of Business Women Associations in the COMESA Region and the COMESA Business Council.

She serves as the President of the Organization of Women in Trade (OWIT), the Mediterranean Congress for Business & Professional Women, and the African Organization for African Heritage and Culture. She is the Secretary General of the African Society for Scientific Research & Technology and the Vice President of the International Federation for Business and Professional Women 2014-2017. Dr. Asfour is awarded many awards from Egypt, Africa, Arab World, and from all over the world.

Sonya Janahi is the Founder & CEO for Maya La Chocolaterie and its parent company, ‘The Living Concepts’; a hospitality and F&B consultancy mandated to inspire home-grown innovative concepts with vast potential to turn them into international franchise names.
Sonya founded Maya La Chocolaterie over 10 years ago as the first artisan chocolate brand in Bahrain and has since evolved it into a successful GCC-wide franchise synonymous with some of the best chocolatiers in the world. Her love for chocolate inspired her to pursue a qualification in Ecole Chocolate and she is a Certified Professional Chocolatier and a mentor and guide to the Chefs of Maya.
Boasting a distinguished career that spans over two decades working in the banking and telecom industries, and with specialised know-how in the areas of retail, investment, oil & gas and real estate, Sonya has applied her expertise to strategically diversify and evolve the family business, carving its growth path beyond Bahrain, to international territories, through best in class partnerships and Mergers & Acquisitions.
In addition to her integral role in expanding the reach and breadth of the Maya brand, Sonya is actively involved in the rest of the Group’s subsidiaries which extend to investment and financial, administration, HR and IT consultancies; architecture and interior design; and construction, where she also holds senior advisory positions as a member of the Board.
Sonya is widely commended for her entrepreneurial spirit; she has sought to make a difference as an enabler of change, advocating for the region’s SME sector and using her own story of achievements to stimulate progress in the realm of entrepreneurship as well as to empower women.
In March 2018, Sonya won a board seat at the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce & Industry and her role is focused on supporting the F&B and hospitality sector of Bahrain. In August 2018, His Majesty King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of Bahrain issued an official decree appointing Sonya as a board member of the Social Insurance Organization (pension fund).

H.E. Mr. MOHAMMAD ALI ALKAMALI
Deputy CEO – Dubai Exports

Mr. Mohammed Ali Al Kamali has over a decade of senior level experience in International Marketing, Trade Promotion as well an experience of policy building across the government and participation in joint working groups in the UAE and at the international level with the World Trade Center.
In his current role as Deputy CEO, Mr. Mohammed has been instrumental in increasing the value and diversity of exports from the emirate. His collaborative approach and achievements in mobilizing resources has seen Mohammed sitting in several cross governmental committees and working groups including the Supreme Committee of National Day Celebrations across the city of Dubai for two years, and also managing the strategy for promoting Dubai Trade Overseas. He is a member of more than five joint committees between the UAE and other countries and also Vice President of the Arab Union for Industrial Exports Development (AUIED).
Mohammed is a graduate in Marketing Management with a Bachelor Degree and Higher Diploma in Business Administration from the Higher Colleges of Technology in the UAE and he has a Master Degree in International Relations & Diplomacy from Lancaster University in United Kingdom. Mohammed also is an Expert in Public Policy.

Gwen Mwaba joined Afreximbank in May 2015 and as Director, she is responsible for Trade Finance.  In her role, she heads the Trade Finance business for Afreximbank and executes transactions in all Afreximbank member states across Africa. 

 Her expertise cuts across Receivables Financing, Pre-export and Pre-payment financing, Structured Trade and Commodity Financing and lending to Financial Institutions. 

Gwen has 19 years of banking experience in the sectors Oil & Gas, Telecoms, Hospitality, Mining and agri-business.

 Before joining Afreximbank, she worked for Standard Bank Plc in London.

 She holds a Bachelor of Science of Applied Accounting from Oxford Brooks University, UK and an MBA from Heriot-Watt University, UK.  As chartered accountant by profession, Gwen is a Fellow of ACCA.
